Laurie Meyer
Laurie Meyer has lived and painted in Charleston [SC] for nearly forty years. Following careers as a teacher and pharmaceutical sales, Laurie devoted her focus to being a professional artist in 1997. Additionally, she has led many workshops in her studio as well as in Italy, Portugal, Mexico, and other wonderful locations.
In 2016, Laurie opened the first Meyer Vogl Gallery in downtown Charleston with partners Marissa Vogl and Katie Geer. In December of 2021, they opened their second location on Daniel Island Laurie's work has been accepted into shows for the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. Most recently, Laurie was awarded the "Best Use of Light" in a NOAPS show.
